A table that does not match

A matched set of twelve looks resolved on the day it arrives and slightly hollow forever after. Nothing on it was chosen; it was all decided at once.
Start with plates in one colour, then let the bowls be different. Add glasses that were never meant to go with either. The one rule worth keeping is scale - if everything is roughly in proportion, the colours can do what they like.
It is also cheaper. Six plates now, six in three months, and you find out what you actually reach for before you commit.
