Packing without plastic

The first plastic-free trial went badly. Nine per cent of the glassware arrived broken, against under one per cent with bubble wrap, and every one of those was a customer who had to wait another week.
What works now is corrugated card wound into a collar around the piece, moulded pulp caps top and bottom, and a paper void fill that is genuinely recyclable in a kerbside bin. Breakage is back to 0.6 per cent.
It costs us about $1.40 more per parcel. We have not put it on the price, and we are not going to.
